- Note body content
- Optional metadata (type/tag, description)
Where search lives
Search is embedded in the Notes Directory tab inside the left sidebar. It is not a separate overlay.
Opening search

Ctrl / Cmd + F | Opens sidebar (if closed), switches to Notes Directory tab, and focuses the search input |
| Click the Notes Directory tab manually | Shows the search input at the top of the directory |
Navigation

Canvas highlighting
When search results are found:
- Matching note cards on the canvas receive a highlighted border (amber).
- The active match has a distinct highlight (orange).
- The canvas scrolls to bring the active match into view.
- The match count is shown next to the search input.
How matching works
- Case-insensitive substring match across title and content.
- Matches are computed in the client against the local Zustand store — no network request.
- Results update instantly as you type.
